Hi! Welcome to The Wellness Workshop! I have been developing this space over the last several years.  I am a reformed lifelong dieter and recovered disordered eater who found an unexpected home for my healing self in a group fitness class. I accidentally discovered that intentional movement facilitated body awareness and appreciation, and it somehow began healing the disintegration between my body and mind! Because movement has been such a medicine, healer, and support for me, I couldn’t help but want to help others find it as well.

I am a certified Barre Amped instructor, a Registered Yoga Teacher, and a certified Nutrition Coach through NASM.

I’m also a mom of four and a wife! I am well acquainted with the various challenges busy women face, as well as the physical changes that accompany pregnancy and childbirth. My passion is to help women develop a tailor-made, workable, and sustainable plan that suits their busy lifestyles but that can ultimately get them all the way to their goals.

OUR APPROACH

Core beliefs

First and most importantly, as Deepak Chopra and Rudolph Tanzi say in their book, the Healing Self, “If only one thing is healed in your life, it should be the separation between mind and body.” The intimate connection between the mind and the body is the number one most important tool for both healing the past and propelling us into the future. At the Wellness Workshop, we make every attempt to make all movement thoughtful and purposeful, personal and tailored for individual bodies. Movement is a form of medicine. It should be fun, fueling, and healing, and it should feel good and be empowering.

Secondly, bad habits thrive in isolation. Habits are simply neural pathways built in the brain to automate actions, and neurons that fire together wire together. Being ashamed and embarrassed about habits considered “bad” won’t help to solve them. We want our clients to feel, as needed, able to talk about their roadblocks to success, and ask for the help they need! We enjoy the process and practice of working together to workshop problems and troubleshoot, and celebrate tiny successes! We are big fans of the Tiny Habit practice! Tiny changes, built over time and within a person’s own preferences and individual constructs,  create lasting change that is sustainable. Your body is your most intimate friend and the only one that is with you constantly. It deserves and needs to be treated with love and respect.

Yoga Practice

The body has to be supported through core strength, balance and proprioception, healthy cardio, proper fuel, and weight bearing movement.  Proper movement in conjunction with growth in other areas can create a body that is able and willing to propel clients toward their goals and aspirations.
