Dealing with Negative Thinking

Updated: Dec 8, 2021

Negative energy.

It surrounds us in many ways every day, and it also bubbles within us when we face a separation between our thoughts or experiences and our internal peace and homeostasis.

What if you could just let it be, be witness to it, find the untruths you’ve so long believed within it, and offer them to the Healer for change and growth?

Just something I’ve been thinking about today. When we were children, we thought and talked like children. As we have grown into adults, how many of those thought patterns and internal dialogue have we brought with us? Has the time sufficed for that former way of thinking and believing?

Could we open up our hands and release the grip we have on the thoughts and beliefs that we so desperately cling to?

Self protection and preservation thoughts, like defensive blame, withholding love, seeing the worst in yourself or someone else, withdrawing based on fear? Predetermined reasons for an anger response?

What if we started being more present with our thoughts and feelings, witnessing them more objectively, allowing them space but maybe not as much power? What if it wasn’t scary to be wrong, outgrow what used to have purpose and is now holding you back?

What if we opened our hands and let go of the lies we believe? The negativity we use to protect ourselves? The doubts, the beliefs that hold us back, the definitions we have given to ourselves and the characteristics we think we are stuck inside of? What if we decided we didn’t have to win the argument or prove the point, or even engage in the stand off at all? What if we decided our validation did not depend on others?

Maybe we could try. Maybe it would start to change everything.
